An unusual cube-shaped bead is the basis of this Beaded Beasties dragonfly and immediately suggested displaying the insect in profile.

It is made from predominantly recycled glass and ceramic beads in shades of purple and blue. The acetate wings are also shown in a downward beat position which gives a very different look. The dragonfly's habitat is made up from glass nuggets, raffia and leather and cotton cord. This is all arranged on a printed watercolour paper background in complimenting colours.

The black box frame is 20cm (8 ins) square and 33mm deep with a hanging hook on the back.
