On Azure Wings, Beaded Beasties Dragonfly Box Frame
This Beaded Beasties blue dragonfly is soaring into the sky. Below is his reed-bed home beside the lakeshore. It's a world of sapphire, turquoise, silver and crystal. This handcrafted piece of artwork would make an ideal gift for any lover of dragonflies, insects or nature generally.
The dragonfly is made from new glass, acrylic and metal beads with acetate wings printed with a vein pattern. His environment has been created from natural pebbles, raffia, spires of recycled turquoise beads on cord-wrapped skewers and recycled card. They are all mounted against a printed watercolour-effect background paper in pale shades of blue and green. The work's title and my DArT 'signature' are written in pencil on the bottom of the mount.
The black box frame is 27cm (10.5 ins) square and 33mm deep. There is a hanging hook on the back.
